What’s happening now

  • Work on the Cazadero Trail started on May 13th between Deep Creek and HWY 212 and will be fully closed until mid-August.

  • Crews are working northward along HWY 224 between Timber Park and Barton

  • Work is generally happening weekdays 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Intermittent noise, trail and road closures are likely. Keep an eye out for crews, construction signs and flaggers.


What’s coming soon

  • Join us at a Community Open House on July 8th from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Boring-Damascus Grange Hall, 27861 SE Grange Street, Boring.

  • In mid-July, work will begin along the Springwater Corridor Trail between Boring and Hogan Road near Gresham. Check back soon for more details.


During construction, people may experience some disruptions like intermittent trail and road closures, as well as equipment noise which will occur during the day. Temporary planned outages are expected, and impacted customers will be notified a few days in advance so they can prepare.

Detailed Trail Closure Information

During construction, the Cazadero Trail will experience intermittent closures until further notice.

The trail is fully closed between Deep Creek and Highway 212. This closure began on May 13, and is anticipated to last 90 days.

This map provides a more detailed look at trail closures and projected timeline. We’ll update the map as the project moves toward Boring, Gresham, and Portland!

What To Expect

Working Hours: Typically M-F 8am-4pm

  • Limited noise during brush and vegetation removal, and when pouring foundations for new poles.

  • Limited traffic impacts—watch for traffic control: single lane closures, signs, cones, flaggers.

  • Temporary outages—impacted customers will be notified in advance.

  • Limited parking in Timber Park, at times.

  • Temporary closures of portions of the Cazadero and Springwater trails; look for signage about closures and detours.

Construction sequence for each segment: 

  • Pre-construction: brush and vegetation clearing near existing towers. 

  • New pole foundation work: 3 to 4 days for each new pole, moving along the segment. 

  • New pole installation: a few weeks after foundation work, new poles will be installed. When all the new poles are installed for each segment, existing powerlines will be replaced with new wires.

  • Existing tower removal: a couple of weeks after new powerlines are installed, the existing towers will be removed.
